This conference is organized within the framework of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which in 2003 is dedicated to the prevention of risks caused by occupational exposure to dangerous substances. The main purpose of this conference is to promote and disseminate good practice solutions and models for the prevention of risks associated with dangerous substances.The conference offers the opportunity to debate actual problems related to the presence of dangerous substances at workplaces and modalities to reduce occupational risks. The European Week 2003 is an information campaign with the purpose to transform Europe into a zone of safety and health at work, by promoting initiatives aimed to reduce the risks of working in the presence of dangerous substances. With the support of the European Commission and Parliament, of trade unions and employers federations, this annual initiative has become one of the most important events dedicated to safety and health at work, in Europe.
